The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a financial mechanism established under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to support developing countries in their efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The GCF Task Force Forum provides a platform for regional and local governments to participate in the development of climate action plans that are aligned with the GCF’s goals and objectives.

The webinar was attended by government officials, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders from across North Kalimantan. The panelists included representatives from FACT Indonesia, YKAN, and the North Kalimantan Provincial Government, who shared their experiences and insights on low-emission development and the role of the GCF Task Force in achieving sustainable and climate-resilient development.

The webinar discussed the challenges and opportunities facing North Kalimantan in its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development. The panelists emphasized the importance of collaboration between different stakeholders, including government, civil society, and the private sector, in achieving these goals.

The panelists also highlighted the role of the GCF Task Force in providing technical and financial support to local governments in their efforts to develop climate action plans and access funding from the GCF. They emphasized the need for North Kalimantan to actively participate in the GCF Task Force Forum and to leverage this platform to access the resources and expertise needed to achieve its low-emission development goals.
